Get ready to take the concept of a lemonade stand to a whole new level. In the summer of 2020 between fourth and fifth grades, at 8-years old, Micah Harrington won the hearts of America on Instagram for his Micah’s Mixx sidewalk lemonade stand. Working around the weather, he sells a half-dozen flavors of lemonade and iced tea from a folding table at 23rd and Sigel Streets in South Philadelphia. “We started talking about how his lemonade was going to be different,” said Danielle his mom. “I explained to him that when walk into the grocery store, you may see 30 different kinds of bread, but they’re all different. Whether it’s packaging or price, you’re going to have to stand out.”

The demand grew when Micah created a sugar free lemonade made with Splenda as he had people in his family who couldn’t have sugar because of diabetes. Splenda saw it and it went viral. Micah’s Mixx sold out. Now, Micah is upgrading to a food truck after purchasing and remodeling a school bus. “I’ll use this truck to travel all over to sell my lemonade and provide bottles free to the homeless around the city,” a statement on the GoFundMe page reads. “He loves to see people smile and he loves to feel like he’s making people care about something,” Micah’s mom added. “He isn’t driven by the money. He’s driven by the people. He likes to go places and just see people smile.”
